ARCA's 4th Annual Foxburg Scottish Festival

Ceilidh on the Foxburg GreenSoon over the Allegheny River Valley will be the sound of bagpipes, fiddles and traditional Scottish song, as ARCA prepares for its fourth annual Foxburg Scottish Festival. Head to Foxburg the third weekend in August beginning with the Ceilidh, Friday night August 17th on the Foxburg Green.
Scottish favorites Carl Peterson and Robert Murdoch will lead off the festivities. The Ceilidh is a pass the hat donation performance.
Saturday August 18th at RiverStone Farm gates open at 9:00 AM. It is a full day of music, athletic competition including the caber toss, stone and hammer throw, scottish food, vendors and clans. Also if the weather cools the popular horse drawn carriage rides will be available, if too hot tractor/wagon rides will be substituted. Border collie sheep herding trials are scheduled along with the Scottish dog show including obedience and agility events. All can try to win the golf hole in one contest. There will be Scottish dancers, clans, food, and vendors, storytelling, bagpipe competition, facepainting and more.
It is a family day at picturesque RiverStone Farm, gate fee for adults is $10.00, children 6 to 12 $5.00 and children under 6 are free. Saturday night at 7:00 PM will be a closing concert at Lincoln Hall featuring the sweet celtic/Scottish sounds of Maidens IV. Concert tickets are adults $10.00 students $5.00 children under 12 free.
