The Red Brick Gallery continued its series of monthly special exhibits with an exhibit featuring local artist Jason Floyd Lewis.  The show featured oil paintings, colored pencil and graphite drawings of Western Pennsylvania landscapes.   The Exhibit ran from May 17 through June 16th.

There was an opening reception on Sunday, May 19th from 2:00 to 4:00 offering refreshments and an opportunity to meet the artist.  The Red Brick artists’ cooperative showcases the talent of 15 area artists working in a wide variety of mediums.   It is supported by the Allegheny Riverstone Center for the Arts.

Jason began drawing 15 years ago at Clarion Area High School.  He went on to earn a BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design and a MFA in Drawing from Bowling Green State University.  After studying in Ohio, he returned home and took the landscape of Western PA as his primary subject.  Jason’s work explores the majestic beauty of our rivers and forests as well as the industrial imprint of human activity that has been left on our surroundings.
