Foxburg, PA: Foxburg Business District and Yeany’s Maple bring to you Foxburg Maple Syrup Festival, Saturday April 28, 2012.
Start your day with a hot, steamy stack of fluffy pancakes. Top with butter, watch as it melts, then pour on some fresh, locally made maple syrup. You will find the pancake breakfast in the tent at the Allegheny Grille. All proceeds will go to Foxburg Free Library and at only $5.00 per plate who could pass up the warm delicious sausage, hot coffee and of course, the pancakes.
Yeany’s Maple, located in downtown Marienville, will be providing the Maple Syrup products for the festival. They have a 5, 000 tap operation and produce on average of 1,000 gallons of syrup per year. Dave Yeany tapped over 700 trees at the Riverstone Estate this year and produced the syrup from the sap. Yeany’s has been in business for 9 years and will be selling a variety of maple products including maple candies, maple cream, shaved ice, cotton candy and more.
Ever wonder how the sap from the maple trees can be used in so many different products? You can watch demonstrations on making maple sugar at The Allegheny Grille, maple cream at Divani Chocolatier & Barista and Allegheny RiverStone Center for the Arts (ARCA) will have a maple creamy demonstration at the Red Brick Gallery. A maple creamy is a soft serve ice cream and it will be available for purchase also. A detailed schedule of events will be released as soon as it becomes available.

Allegheny RiverStone Center for the Arts will join in the fun beginning at 11:00am. Lincoln Hall will be open for impromptu blue grass music and Wutlitzer Organ demonstrations on the hour. At 2:00 pm there will be a slide show with commentary, Raymond Rossi-My trip to Everest-“No Maple Syrup for My Pancakes”. Visitors to the Hall will have the opportunity to enter special drawings for festival door prizes.
There will be various local entertainers at multiple locations in Foxburg throughout the day.
The Allegheny Grille is hosting a Comedy Night, with a buffet dinner starting at 6:30pm and the show starts at 7:30pm. The show features comedians Trina Hess, Sally Chopping and Evan Dewitt. Evan Dewitt recently performed at the Emlenton Crawford Center. Tickets for the show are $30.00 per person in advance and $35.00 per person on April 28.
