Coming Soon! Maple Syrup Festival, Nature Festival and 5K Run/Walks!

“Racing teaches us to challenge ourselves. It teaches us to push beyond where we thought we could go. It helps us to find out what we are made of. This is what we do. This is what it’s all about.”
-PattiSue Plumer, U.S. Olympian

It’s that time of year, spring! Well, if the snow ever lifts up! Soon it will be time for warm weather and being outside.

Speaking of being outside, Foxburg will soon be hosting not one but TWO 5K run/walks!

We have two wonderful festivals coming up, and these run/walks will be a part of the festivals!

The weekend of April 27th will be our Maple Syrup Festival, if you are interested in finding out not only how they make Maple Syrup (The real syrup, not Mrs. Butterworth’s,) and what they can make out of Maple Syrup, then come on down and join us. We will have Vendors and Live Entertainment as well.

The 5K will be held on Sunday April 28th at 10am. This run/walk will benefit three of our local fire companies, Emlenton, Parker and St. Petersburg. These three fire companies serve our area, and the firemen are only volunteers, they do not get paid to do this. It’s amazing the courage and bravery of these men to do this for us. We should want to give back to them for volunteering their time to save our lives. Show your support by coming out and doing our run/walk!

Then, the weekend of May 4th, we will be having our Nature Festival. Just like the Maple Festival, we will have vendors and exhibitors, but we will also have much more! There will be a birdwalk at Riverstone Estate and Allegheny River Bike Trail, an afternoon of photography opportunities, a  a dinner followed by a presentation on the Golden Eagle, and then an Owl Prowl at Riverstone Estate in the evening. This is sure to be a fun time. Come celebrate the natural beauty of our area and learn about some of our furry and not-so-furry friends!

The 5k will be held on Sunday May 5th at 10am. This run/walk will benefit Skye’s Spirit Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. Skye’s Spirit is a non – profit organization dedicated to the care, rehabilitation and release of injured, orphaned and displaced wildlife. They are located in Venango County, but will take in wildlife from surrounding counties as well. This cause is so great, if you’d like to check out their website and learn more about them, visit www.skyes-spirit.com
