Anyone looking to spice up the dog days of summer, look no further. August in Foxburg is filled to the brim with exciting, inspiring, and relaxing events.

Looking for something to do on the weekend? Check out the live music each weekend at the Foxburg Wine Cellars, held every Saturday and Sunday afternoon on their patio. Musicians performing during the month of August include Mandolin Whiskey, Shotgun Sunday, Richard Eustice, Max Schang, Terry Dach, and Gashouse Annie.

New swimming pool at Gaslight CampgroundFans of the Gaslight Campground will be thrilled to learn that the Gaslight Campground will continue their themed weekends through the month of August. Water Party Weekend, Snowball Fight, Rodeo Weekend are some of the themes for this August as well as a pig roast on 25th which is open to the community. At the pig roast, singer Carol Kline will perform with her husband, George Kline.

Sunday BrunchLovers of fine food are in luck because The Allegheny Grille is featuring specials all month long! $5 burgers every Tuesday, 2 for $40 special every Wednesday, All-You-Can-Eat Beer Battered Fish Fry each Thursday, and an all you can eat lunch buffet on Sunday ensures that visitors can have their fill of delicious nourishment for the entire month of August.

Scottish BandOn the 17th of August, the annual Ceilidh will be held in Foxburg between the Foxburg Free Library and the Foxburg Wine Cellars as part of the Scottish Festival. Traditional Scottish song and dance will be shared. Guests can sit on the lawn or bring a chair, and a donation basket will be passed around at the end of the performance.

The following day, August 18th, the Foxburg Scottish Festival will take place at RiverStone Farm. Highland games, sheep herding demonstrations, carriage rides, musical and dance performances, and other booths and activities will ensure that everyone can find something there to enjoy. Make sure to make it for the closing concert at 7 pm!

Yoga Teachers TrainingFor those seeking to emerge themselves in the world of yoga, the Leela Mata Peaceful Valley Ashram is offering an Advanced Sampoorna Yoga Teacher Certification Class from August 3rd to August 24th. Here, already practiced teachers can earn the diploma, “Yoga Acharya,” and be registered with Yoga Alliance for the 500 hours level. Prior registration is required for this workshop, but anyone interested who did not get signed up can take comfort in knowing that the Ashram offeres many different workshops throughout the year.
