Winter Weddings

The traditional “Wedding Season” is over, snow and cold is on its way to visit us here in northwestern Pennsylvania, and we are still hosting weddings here at the Foxburg Inn. Some people are just natural snow bunnies, or maybe they wanted a holiday-themed wedding, whatever the reason is winter weddings are here to stay! I decided to do some research myself to see what my options are if I decided to get married in the colder winter months as opposed to the traditional spring and summer dates. I was pleasantly surprised at the wealth of information I found and I am happy to pass this along to you, the future winter bride or groom maybe? One of the first things that I thought of is; flowers.  What flowers would you chose for a winter wedding? I found some very beautiful ideas ranging from simple, but classy to extravagant and flashy. If you want that holiday themed wedding, I found a floral arrangement of red and white roses to resemble candy cane colors to be quite pretty and tasteful. To go for a more rustic look try centerpieces made of red berries and moss. Some other winter floral choices are; white orchids, baby’s breath, white hydrangeas and soft ranunculus. To add a hint of color use a combination of lace and ribbons in a pink blush, red or blue. You can also pair your flowers with touches of metallic such as gold or silver hues.

In the next few weeks I will be sharing more information on this topic, so keep watching our blog for new helpful hints and ideas. If you are planning a winter wedding, we would love to hear from you! Let us know what you think, share your struggles and successes in our comments section!!
