Cool down with Jazz Fest Weekend in Foxburg
On stage next for ARCA this week end is another genre of music of friends as Jazz comes to Foxburg. Catro a local jazz quintet hits the Allegheny Grille river deck Friday July 26th from 6 to 9 PM. Catro led by Mark DeWalt on key board and features Dave Kano on tenor sax. It is a great way to spend a Friday summer evening with cool jazz along the river. Saturday night at 7:00 PM on the Foxburg Green it is the icon Harold Betters and his still sweet trombone. He is celebrating being eighty five years young. He and his band play familiar tunes which every time they are refreshed as he plays with so much heart and soul. In a way he is as old and as new as jazz can be. It’s a great opportunity to bring your favorite lawn chair, meet family and friends for a cooling river’s evening of entertainment. If it is hot like the past week or should rain be the weather the concert will move inside the air conditioned Lincoln Hall. Plan to come early or stay late to visit other Foxburg shops and restaurants. Stop by the Red Brick Gallery and Shop to see the new exhibit show in the Upstairs Gallery. Through mid-August it is A Multi-Artist/Mixed Media Exhibit Featuring Photography by Daniel Stainer and Mixed Media Works of Art by the Artists of the Saxonburg Area Artists Co-operative.
Also for Saturday there will be Jazz at the Foxburg Wine Cellar, The Eric Krouse Trio comes to downtown Foxburg on the winery patio at 2:00 PM. Sunday the music continues again at the winery with guitarist Ron Shoup and Friends rounding out the weekend with easy listening light jazz sound at 2:00 PM. All Jazz Fest performances including Catro and Harold Betters are “donation-Pass the Hat” events. ARCA appreciates your support to bring Jazz to the Allegheny River valley.
